Psychopolitics?!
Some of my acquaintances on Independence Caucus (a great vetting site) have spent a great deal of time trying to convince me that I shouldn't use my faith to help me sift through the political candidates. My faith is the very substance of my being. I cannot interact in this world without it. I cannot divorce myself from it.

I believe people are missing the point to Restoring the Republic if you leave God out of the equation. Surely as Constitutionalists you must know that the purported separation of church and state is a contorted (and erroneous) reading of the First Amendment. One does not have to be a Christian in order to recognize the divine providence of a higher power (but a belief in God sure helps). Even native Indian tribes believe in the Great Spirit.

I submit that if you do not use your faith to help you sift through the political candidates (status quo for several decades), then you are going to get what you've always gotten--disappointment when the "fiscal conservative" you supported makes bone-headed decisions on social issues or turns out not to be as conservative as s/he pretended to be. Anyone can lie to you. However, there is one issue that carries a lot of passion that is hard to fake--the sanctity of life. Not many people are able to fake that kind of passion.

If our country is to return to Constitutional principles, are you not going to embrace the faith that comes with them? How can you divorce one from the other? Our Constitution was written to "...secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity." You all know what posterity means, right?  Your future generations (not just your children, but many generations hence), which means they have to survive a pregnancy. Have you ever heard of the personhood imperative? Hopefully, such an imperative will be successful in all 50 states eventually.

Let's talk about this 80/20 rule. Is this similar to voting for the lesser of two evils? Okay, let's vote for the lesser of two evils...what is the end result? Evil!

Let's pretend that I offer you a glass of the finest wine that money can buy. But before I give you a glass, I put 1/16th teaspoon of arsenic in it. Will you still drink it? But it was just little bit, it isn't enough to kill you, just make you sick. Remember...it is awfully luxurious wine. Surely it wouldn't hurt to drink it with so small an amount of poison, right?

Let's also pretend that once you accept the poisoned wine and get used to the flavor that I keep increasing the poison, ever so slightly so as not to be noticed. At what point are you going to realize that something is wrong? Would you not agree that our society has huge problems today? Problems that cannot be fixed with legislation? How will you legislate against greed, fraud and corruption if there is no God and no absolutes?

No. No more for me. I've had enough poisoned wine, and I consider myself a recovering, reluctant republican. This doesn't mean that I won't support another republican, but it DOES mean that the republicans I DO support will have a track record of faith (not like Jeremiah Wright), and a passion to protect innocent human life. I have found that when the candidate has these character traits, that his/her fiscal responsibility will fall into place without effort. I will not support or vote for a candidate who has no faith and does not recognize the sanctity of life.

I leave you with this quote from the old Russian textbook on "Psychopolitics:"

THE SOVIET ART OF BRAINWASHING
A Synthesis of the Russian Textbook on Psychopolitics

. . .

CHAPTER XIV
THE SMASHING OF RELIGIOUS GROUPS

. . .

We have battled in America since the century's turn to bring to nothing any and all Christian influences and we are succeeding. While we today seem to be kind to the Christian, remember, we have yet to influence the "Christian world" to our ends. When that is done we shall have an end of them everywhere. You may see them here in Russia as trained apes. They do not know their tether is long only until the apes in other lands have become unwary.

You must work until "religion" is synonymous with "insanity." You must work until the officials of city, county and state governments will not think twice before they pounce upon religious groups as public enemies.

Remember, all lands are governed by the few and only pretend to consult with the many. It is no different in America. The petty official, the maker of laws alike can be made to believe the worst. It is not necessary to convince the masses. It is only necessary to work incessantly upon the official, using personal defamations, wild lies, false evidences and constant propaganda to make him fight for you against the church or against any practitioner....

(Highlighting mine.) I'd say that their work on this issue is fairly complete.  One more quote and I'm done pontificating for this essay:

"Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in the face of a corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones. To choose to do nothing is to surrender one’s self-image of standing for principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice. Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all."  ~Michael Rivero

Tea Party Power - The Next Step - Boots on the Ground

One year ago in the Kansas City Metro area, flags were flying and posters were held high. Six months ago, TParty groups were holding campaign training everywhere. Three months ago, thousands went to rallies to see Sarah, Karl, and Sean.

Today, it is almost quiet as the TPArty candidates walk by themselves, underfunded, and largely without help. One State Representative candidate told ALR it is a disappointment, "The time for blogging has ended - it is time for to do the work if we want to make an impact."

"We will not win over the establishment candidates if the TParty activists don't get way from their computers and join us in the day-to-day jobs that need to be done," another candidate said, unescorted, in an evening ritual of knocking on doors. "Not everyone is on Facebook or are reading the blogs," the candidate said.

Campaigns take money - there are signs, fliers, postage, radio, print, and fund raising expenses. Where are the TParty activists in Eastern Kansas? It seems almost quiet. The rallies are gone, flags were taken in after the Memorial Day holiday without any meaningful TParty observances. The money for candidates is drying up.

At ALR, we are walking our districts, giving every un-budgeted dollar to several candidates: Pelosi's opponent, two congressional candidates, one candidate for senator, and we are planning our second event for June 15 for three candidates.

Every year or so, while teaching American History, I come across the lesson, "One if by land, two if by sea." The call, "The British are coming" is soon followed with the clatter of hoofs. The British were the oppressors of liberty and freedom.

webassets/prevereii.jpgToday, this afternoon, this evening, the British are coming in the form of "establishment" Republicans, Rinos, and statist Democrats.

If we stay on the couch, liberal and rino republicans will win the primaries and statists the general election and the political revolution will end. At least, it will end in Kansas where "moderates" have turned a Red State into the abortion capital of the nation and the leading "safe haven" for illegals as 18+ states move to end employment for those who should not be here and are illegal to employ.

I remember a football coach saying after a loss, "We met the enemy and they are us!"

Three lights are shining! They are coming by land and sea, inside and out of the Republican Party. It is time for action, the blogs can wait until late in the evening when the campaign work is done.

"Firearms Freedom Acts"

Alaska: Alaska recently enacted a law stating that certain firearms, firearm accessories and ammunition that are manufactured in and remain in the state are exempt from federal regulation.

Arizona: Arizona enacted a law that declares that firearms and ammunition manufactured in Arizona that "remain in the state" are not subject to federal firearms laws.

Montana: Montana has declared firearms and/or ammunition manufactured, sold and possessed in the state immune from federal firearms laws. The Montana Shooting Sports Association and the Second Amendment Foundation have announced plans to file suit to enforce this law. On July 16, 2009, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives published an open letter to licensed firearms dealers and manufacturers in Montana. The letter clarifies that federal recordkeeping and background check requirements, as well as all other federal requirements and prohibitions, continue to apply in Montana, despite the new law. The Montana Shooting Sports Association and the Second Amendment Foundation have filed suit in U.S. District Court to enforce the law.

Tennessee: A recent Tennessee law declares firearms and/or ammunition manufactured, sold and possessed in the state immune from federal firearms laws.

Utah: Utah recently adopted a law providing that any firearm or firearm‑related item manufactured in Utah and kept in the state is not subject to federal firearms laws.
